Michael’s is a development and commercialization expert with over 20 years of experience in the medical device field. As an executive at Zimmer and later Zimmer Biomet he led the organization in developing numerous innovative industry leading technologies. His systems thinking approach to new products, processes and business models have created enduring value for every organization he served. During his career he has worked for start-ups, high growth and large cap organizations thus bringing both a breadth of technical expertise and business acumen to the BVG team.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a Masters Biomedical Engineering from The University of Akron and a Masters in Business Administration from Ball State University. He holds over ten issued patents in the field of Orthopaedics and Dental Implantology. He volunteers as an Assistant Scout Master, is a board member of the University of Michigan Dental School Dean’s Advisory Committee and mentors students looking to start companies with the University of California San Diego von Liebig Center NSF I-CORPS Program.
